Stayed for 4 nights in early May and had the BEST experience. This was our first time staying in a hostel and we both feel that we lucked out immensely discovering this gem! A view worth 5x what we paid for it, great location relative to the ferry and tourist areas, and the friendliest service. Highly recommend to anyone looking to do Lake Como on a budget!
The Peace Lodge works in conjunction to the lakeside hostel. This lodging had been a nunnery; thus, the accommodations are basic. Five stars for location due to the views from the upper floors and the exercise you get walking the trail up to the lodge. Apple Maps shows the shortcut between the Hostel and the Lodge. The ferry station is near the Hostel There are many excellent hikes nearby. I found that GPS was not accurate it pinpointing your location on the steep hillside Tiago and Anna Mae make sure coffee is ready at 7 am and a cold continental breakfast at 8 am. Nothing fancy. Thus, the five stars for service. The rooms are comfortable. I slept well
An awesome place for an awesome price at lake Como! The staff is super friendly and gave us good recommendations of hiking trails. The breakfast that was included in the price was great for a hostel breakfast. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking. Our private room had a very nice view to the lake and even though there was no AC the temperature was very okay when we kept both windows open. The garden was amazing, so chill and quiet to hang out at. Overall, a very peaceful place and I would recommend it to any budget travelers. I don’t really understand all the complaining in the reviews, of course the place is a bit old and rustic but it’s very cheap for Lake Como and great value for that little money.
Room was filthy and had bugs all over the beds! We had to put on and take off all the bedsheets and pillow sheets on filthy pillows and mattresses. The blankets were all scrubby and dirty. Location was alright but it was very confusing as it does not show on google maps.
