The Katherine Nivas Senior Care Home is run by the Sisters of The Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ, Katherine Kasper Order.. This Home at Hossahalli, Chikkajalla is where my mother at 95, has been residing and enjoying her sunset years. An Aged Care facility where Seniors in all stages of aging are being given a safe and happy environment to live their golden years gracefully. Costs are kept nominal for middle and upper middle class Seniors. Many come voluntarily and some are brought by family who cannot manage Aged Care at home. Some are terminally ill, some have signs of dementia, some require palliative care ...whatever the need, religious orientation or difficulty, these trained and caring Sisters have an open door policy, which is non discriminatory and all inclusive. Many activities are held for maintaining fitness or leisure interests...Residents are encouraged to pursue their hobbies like reading, board games, art and craft, sewing, group games, etc. I would encourage Seniors who are living alone or have medical or mobility issues and are looking for a serene environment to live out their Golden Years, to visit Katherine Nivas. Take the first step to continue living your life with dignity and independently. You will not regret it.
Good facility and beautiful place too! There's a chapel, trained nurses who are nuns, there used to be music and singing and Housie sessions earier. There are chair exercises for the seniors as well and doctor visits once a month.
Serene. An affordable, home away from home for seniors above 65 years. The Sisters of Katherine Nivas are trained and dedicated. Assistance with medical and personal care is provided at cost. Planned activities and outings Families are encouraged to spend time with their loved ones...always welcoming, the Sisters offer guest rooms at a nominal cost for overnight stays to family members from out of town.
My dear sister was at Katherine Nivas for several years. It has been several years since she passed away. However the care they provided my sister was outstanding. The staff are extremely kind , compassionate and thoughtful.
