Grandmother concerned as she is on the top floor and elevator hasn’t been working for three days and counting, don’t even have the staff ratio to get everyone off the top floor if there was a fire emergency…. Do the math get it fixed not a big deal. Waiting on a part that takes forever to get there when we’re living in an era of express delivery. Elderly struggling to get down from there rooms. A Manager claims they don’t know anything cause hasn’t been there for a few days. Yeah real nice.

My grandmother died living this retirement home. She had bed sores & nappy rashes from unchanged diapers and neglect. I wouldn't recommend sending your family here. . . If you love them anyway. There are much better retirement homes in New Plymouth.
To the person concerned about her grandmother: You don't need a serviced apartment - order her in Eat Unlimited meals - costs the same as Rhyman's charge and MUCH better. The proof the the pudding ! is that I ordered these for my adult father (not in retirement village) and after a year he is THRIVING. Great food.
Hi guys - I don't know if you would be interested but this absolutely makes my blood boil. My elderly grandmother who has just been discharged from hospital with a heart condition lives in Jean Sandel Rest home in Taranaki NZ. This is their main meals for the day 2 parsnips a half cooked sausage and 2 scoops of mashed spud. They get no alternative to what they get served. They pay $12 for their main meal $6 for their evening - which normally consists of a boiled egg. She stays in a serviced apartment where if you want to be showered it costs around $30 a time (home help does it for free)...to administer or supervise medication being taken another $6 per time. I think it needs to be published the amount of elderly people that are getting taken advantage of!! The price of a serviced apartment costs more than $200,000....and then there is all the hidden costs!! Its out right robbery in broad daylight!! When is enough enough!!! These places are marketed so well and look amazing yet it is all based on appearances!! The level of resident care is mediocre!! Natz Allen Campbell
I have had a wonderful 10 yrs as a resident of this friendly and caring Village. I began my Village Life in a Service Apt and have always been happy with my choice. The staff are so helpful and kind and always go the extra mile. Life is Wonderful !!
