Please read carefully! We had a terrible experience with this facility last year. My Mom was there ONE night. I was impressed when my Brother & I was 1st there to checked out the facility. Next morning, I had an uneasy feeling and felt need to check on her. I drove back to facility (80) miles. First question Mom asked me was "Did you come to get me out of here?" She showed me new bruises on her arm. No, no I said no, at that point. They came in to take vitals. It took 3 machines to find a BP machine that worked. Came to give meds, wasn't crushed as required! When she had fall something affected he ability to shallow. Failed 3 swallow test. Lunch came, had cabbage cut very Large, granola bar, pudding. Do you feel that's a meal she should be served? Just after lunch, she said she was having breathing issues. Called for nurse. She finally arrived,, no regard of problems Mom was having. Again difficulty of working BP machine. 3 machines tried. One ONLY needed to be charged !!! Finally she used Manuel machine. RN looked at me and asked do you want me to call ambulance? I said, You are the dang nurse, you should be taking action not asking me. Then I said Yes, call Ambulance. I realized that would be our ticket out for my Mom! IF YOU CARE FOR YOUR LOVED ONE, DO NOT PUT THEM IN THIS FACILITY!! I realized that would be our ticket out for my Mom! IF YOU CARE FOR YOUR LOVED ONE, DO NOT PUT THEM IN THIS FACILITY!!

Our mother has been at Forest Lake Manor for almost three years. We have been pleased with the genuine concern shown by almost all of the staff during that time. Mother is very content there, and we are always made to feel welcome when we visit.
The leadership and care staff are amazing! Always a positive and warm environment when I walk in with residents actively engaging in conversation and everyone seems happy! I would highly recommend this community.
My mother has lived at Atria Forest Lake for nearly 10 years, and I am grateful for all of the care and service she has received. Atria is much more than an assisted living facility--it has become her home. The caring staff members are like family, and the supportive atmosphere is warm and inviting. As a caregiver, I continue to appreciate the peace of mind that comes from such high-quality service.
My MIL moved into Atria Forest Lake after an early dementia diagnosis. Our family's main concern was having someone to accurately give her medicines each morning and evening and to keep her in a routine to delay the progress of her disease. I knew after our first visit that she was going to love Atria Forest Lake. Now, just over a year after she moved in, she is THRIVING! The loneliness and the disruption of the COVID-19 pandemic took a major toll on my MIL. We saw her sweet disposition and active social life return after she moved to Atria. Often, she says she's too busy with activities to come spend time with us! A dealbreaker for her was letting her Jack Russell terrier mix stay with her, and the spunky 10-pound Bella has become like a mascot for the whole place. We no longer have to worry about my MIL's memory getting worse, her forgetting to take or taking too much of her medicines, if she's eating and staying hydrated and if she's safe with her memory beginning to worsen. Atria at Forest Lake's staff are just amazing and supportive caregivers. My MIL enjoys the food and brags to all of her friends that she no longer has to cook, clean or do her laundry since Atria takes care of all of it. The initial transition when she first moved in was a little rocky, but after a few months of settling in and getting to know the other residents, my MIL actually enjoys living at Atria. She's become an ambassador to help new people settle in (I said in the beginning that she would end up as an ambassador after they told us about the program!). Cannot recommend Atria at Forest Lake enough!!!
